What else would you like to see the PTA send money on in the next 3 years?

Anything pertaining to student/teacherkeep up the good work safety
I would like to see more Art and Music brought into the school. It is disappearing at an alarming rate!
Math & Reading programs
Classroom supplies
A walking path around the field to allow students and faculty a place to excercise throughout the year.
The 3 Kindergarten teachers have had a meeting and talked about our most important need. We have several sets of reading books for a home reading program that are very worn and used for about 20 years. We have checked possibilites for a new home reading program by Modern Curriculum. There are 4 sets of readers at $32.50 per set. Each K.teacher for kindergarten needs 2 sets of set 1, and only 1 set of set 2,3, and 4.
Die cut templates
More Die Cuts for the staff work room
We always need books and AR tests for the library and with budget cuts we will not be able to purchase as much as in past years. I would LOVE to see our school get either Safari Streaming Video or United Streaming Video. There are schools in the district piloting these programs, but as of right now they must be funded by each individual school. This would be beneficial to all teachers and students in the building and would be used on a daily basis. If the PTA could help in supporting one of these programs it would keep us up-to-date with technology and serve the needs of our students.
A NEW READER BOARD!!!
I would like to see more supplies for reading groups and curriculum.
bring in whole school assemblies for example the science center has great mobile classrooms that they do a whole school presentation then individual classroom activities
Save 3000.00 per year for a play structure but spend everything else on teacher wish lists.
Transportation for field trips!!!!! The cutbacks for these is devastating. Many kids will never experience outings to places like Pioneer Farms or the Woodland Park Zoo. These experiences can be a window to a new world and it is a shame that they are losing out.
Buy bulk supplies for teachers and students (i.e pencils, books, rules, chalks, papers, crayons, etc) Save up some to promote good health like having a contest basketball, golf club, soccer for siblings, etc. Give back to teachers for Teacher appreciation week. Acknowledge student with a good grade in every single class, and gave them an incentive like a coupon to buy a book or a coupon to buy meal or ticket to see movie. This can be done once a quarter probably. Just to get the student focus on their school work and their skills.
Specialized learning materials for the SLC's. A full PECS system for the school for use by the SLC classes and the children within them. Adapted PE class for the Special Ed students. Resources for the children with financial needs
support technology and bottom line education - look for sponsorship donation from the community for playground equipment

Any additional comments or suggestions for the PTA?

Just a possible idea/promotion for next years Walk-a-Thon: singer/songwriter/poet/Childrens performer Eric Ode. He is a wonderful entertainer and was a teacher before (that). He visits King County Libraries and schools for assemblies etc. See his website and schedule at www.EricOde.com I think---(you can always google if I typed the exact web address incorrectly)He is the best performer I have ever seen with children. He even has a special song that could be the theme of the walkathon "I Love My Shoes" (no joke) He would also lead an assembly at any time during the year if you have any $/schedule left for any more assemblies this year or next Ask me any questions, Liz Tomisser
keep up the good work
I think that the Hazelwood PTA is awesome! They do a great job of making activities, and school, fun and inspiring
Isn't someone working on getting a grant for new playground equipment?
THANK YOU for all your time and effort you give each day. It does not go unnoticed!
Please make sure all officers and committee chairs attend PTA and the LAW
Thanks for your hard work!!!
Keep up the great work.
We really appreciate all you do for our school!!
The leadership team of PTA is amazing. They are here everyday, supporting our school, staff and kids. I admire their commitment and dedication. Very open to ideas and conversations about how to do things diffently or better or new.
you've got a tough job but do it well. thanks for caring so much.
PTAs now seem to try to be a lot different than the PTAs of my childhood, yet I haven't noticed any results, just them wanting more money. How do you explain that?
You're doing an excellent job! Keep up the good work!!
I feel that the choice above for technology for students and classroom supplies is very ambiguous. Do you for instance mean toner for printers when addressing technology, or software programs for students to learn on? Do you mean paper for the classrooms, or are you referring to something that a student will be using to engage in further learning? This survey will provide a very skewed and incorrect result if you don't present the choices properly. I would like to see the large purchases addressed with specific fundraisers and have those funds specifically earmarked for that purchase. For instance, you could sell school t-shirts and all proceeds would go towards the future purchase of a play structure. I hate to be asked to choose one (small purchases) over the other (large purchases).
This is my first year at Hazelwood so propbably a newsletter with picture & name of our PTA members would help!
Being accepting of parents whose children are in SLC's would be a great place to start.
I would really like to see the money that we have go toward something that my children can enjoy. It would be sad if nothing happens till my children are gone....why did I spend all the time and money helping if my kids don't get the beneift.
